Our Mascot Feature
Producing a mascot costume presents many challenges to its creator. Each project presents something new and therefore deserves and requires personal attention.
While the majority of mascot costumes are constructed with basic components such as a head, body, feet and hands, many are not.
Regardless of the design, each mascot costume is unique. At Mascotsland's mascot costumes we always consider: design, durability, comfort, safety and manageability from concept right through to development.
An overview of our mascot construction techniques follows:
- Costume heads are sculpted to ensure exact character likeness and replication.
- Digital photos are taken once when sculpt is completed, and emailed to the client for approval.
- Molds and patterns are made to ensure no deviation from the original design will occur and guaranteed replication for multi production orders.
- Depending on your application, heads can be fabricated from a variety of products including high-density foams, ABS plastic, carbon fiber and maximum vent.
- Illation and vision ports are cut into each head. All vents are camouflaged and provides for optimal vision.
- Depending on the character, a helmet, harness system or shoulder brace is installed. The center of balance is constantly maintained. The wearer can feel comfort and under control maximum.
- Battery operated cooling fan can be installed in the head for ventilation, including switch and rechargeable battery.
- Costume hands are separate for easy replacement. Attached with either Velcro or snaps, or extended sleeves are used to prevent exposure.
- Costume feet are also separate, and made of polyester foam construction, canvas reinforced and crepe neoprene soling.
- The materials we select for use in your costume will be the highest quality available.
- Each production procedure at Mascotsland has a supervisor, each with over 15 years of experience with the Mascotsland professional method of costume character construction.
